Kawah Putih is a volcanic crater located in the Ciwidey region of Bandung, Indonesia. It is known for its stunning natural beauty, featuring turquoise-colored water and white sulfuric rocks that give it its name, which means "white crater" in English.

The crater was formed by the eruption of Mount Patuha, a dormant volcano, and is located at an altitude of approximately 2,430 meters above sea level. The water in the crater is highly acidic and has a pH of 0.5-1.3, which makes it unsuitable for swimming or other water activities.

Visitors to Kawah Putih can enjoy scenic views of the crater and its surrounding area, which includes tea plantations and lush green forests. There are also several viewing platforms and walking trails that allow visitors to explore the area and take in the breathtaking scenery.

To reach Kawah Putih, visitors can take a car or motorcycle from Bandung, which is located approximately 50 kilometers away. The journey takes approximately 2-3 hours depending on traffic and road conditions. It is also possible to take a guided tour from Bandung or hire a private car and driver to take you to the site.

Entry Ticket

The entry ticket to Kawah Putih can vary depending on your nationality and whether you visit on a weekday or a weekend. As of my knowledge cutoff in 2021, the entrance fee for foreign visitors was IDR 50,000 (approximately USD 3.5) on weekdays and IDR 100,000 (approximately USD 7) on weekends and public holidays. For domestic visitors, the entrance fee was IDR 20,000 (approximately USD 1.4) on weekdays and IDR 30,000 (approximately USD 2) on weekends and public holidays.

It's important to note that ticket prices can change, so it's best to check the current prices before you visit. Additionally, there may be additional fees for parking or renting a guide at the site.
